The Peace of God
The peace of God shall keep your hearts and minds.
Philippians 4:6–7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
What is happening
Paul wrote these words to the church at Philippi from prison. He tells them not to be anxious, but to bring every request to God with thanks.
Why it matters
The promise is a peace that does not depend on circumstances, and that stands guard over the heart and the mind.
