The Psalms
The LORD Is My Light
The LORD is my light and my salvation.
Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
What is happening
Psalm 27 is attributed to David and opens with a declaration of trust in the face of enemies and fear.
Why it matters
Light does not remove the night; it makes the path visible. The psalm asks the question of fear and answers it before the verse is finished.
Scales
- Small, 12 × 16 in — More intimate. The work sits within the room rather than leading it.
- Classic, 18 × 24 in — Our natural starting point: present enough to hold the wall, with room to breathe around it.
- Large, 24 × 32 in — More presence across the room. The work becomes a stronger architectural element.
