Verses to Pray With
He Shall Direct Thy Paths
In all thy ways acknowledge him.
Proverbs 3:5–6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
What is happening
These two verses from Proverbs are among the most memorised in the Bible. They are the advice of a father to his son.
Why it matters
To trust is to walk without seeing the whole road, and the promise is that the path will be made straight.
Scales
- Small, 12 × 16 in — More intimate. The work sits within the room rather than leading it.
- Classic, 18 × 24 in — Our natural starting point: present enough to hold the wall, with room to breathe around it.
- Large, 24 × 32 in — More presence across the room. The work becomes a stronger architectural element.
