The Psalms
A Lamp Unto My Feet
A light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
What is happening
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, 176 verses in praise of God's word. Verse 105 is its most quoted line.
Why it matters
A lamp shows only the next few steps, and that is enough. The word is not a floodlight but a light you carry.
Scales
- Small, 12 × 16 in — More intimate. The work sits within the room rather than leading it.
- Classic, 18 × 24 in — Our natural starting point: present enough to hold the wall, with room to breathe around it.
- Large, 24 × 32 in — More presence across the room. The work becomes a stronger architectural element.
