The Words of Jesus
Ask, Seek, Knock
Ask, and it shall be given you.
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
What is happening
Jesus teaches this in the Sermon on the Mount, about prayer: ask, seek and knock.
Why it matters
Three verbs, three promises. The door is made to be opened.
Scales
- Small, 12 × 16 in — More intimate. The work sits within the room rather than leading it.
- Classic, 18 × 24 in — Our natural starting point: present enough to hold the wall, with room to breathe around it.
- Large, 24 × 32 in — More presence across the room. The work becomes a stronger architectural element.
